Welcome

Casa de Helena is a private guest house which welcomes people from around the world. We are located in the hillside village of Sabalito, at Lake Arenal in Northern Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica.  The closest airport is Liberia International 1 1/2 hour drive on good paved road.

Local currency is the Costa Rican Colonie but U.S. Dollars are accepted in almost all circumstances.

Casa de Helena is a  beautiful Mediterranean  style house, three bedrooms, one indoor and one garden bathroom. Jungle views of birds and monkeys from the back porch. Casa de Helena has two areas, upper garden with main house and separate lower garden with spacious private entrance room private bath and small separate private entrance room with large central patio bath. There is central shared patio kitchen in the lower garden. And a year round organic vegetable garden surrounded by banana and other fruit trees.

In the main house, 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. The third bedroom has patio entrance and single bed.  Beside the fire place in the sitting room are two built in sofa beds with very good mattresses.

Wireless internet is available. DVD movies, book library, games and magazines. If you bring your lap top you can use Skype for international phone calls also international phone cards available. There is weekly maid service, and laundry service.

Casa de Helena is a five minute drive to three very good local restaurants offering an international variety of well prepared dishes to chose from. Also Casa de Helena is close to a large array of day trips such as Tabacon Hot Springs, Hanging Bridges jungle walk, kayaking, mountain or road biking, horseback riding, water fall hikes, canopy tours, air tours, fine gift shops and only  10 minutes by car to the Tico Wind Surf and Kite Center. Private or weekly group yoga classes also available at our near by yoga center.
